Fontsmith founder Jason Smith asked me to write a piece about Milton Glaser for the second issue of TypeNotes magazine.

It’s been great to see our logo for Quotidien, France’s popular daily current affairs programme, so wholeheartedly embraced.

My father Bob Rudd is a landscape painter who often travels to Scotland in search of subjects. In recent years, I have been going to Scotland with him to take photographs.

Last week I visited Amsterdam. I was invited by SBS Broadcasting creative director Leo Noordergraaf to give a talk about TV Identity and talk about Rudd Studio’s work in the UK with Channel 4 and ITV.

Last week Matt was invited to speak at the Aspire Programme 2013, an event taking place in Antwerp for creatives from different design disciplines from across Belgium. The event explored leadership and business growth in the 21st Century.

A couple of weeks ago we were in New York. I had the honour of spending time with two design legends – Ivan Chermayeff and Milton Glaser.

And another Japanese ‘imaginary landscape’.

I wanted to try an ‘imaginary landscape’ with photographs I had taken on a trip to Japan a while back. This one combines Tokyo city and garden scenes. The garden is the Hama Rikyu Landscape Garden.

Matt was in Scotland earlier this month. Whilst most of the UK was enjoying lovely weather, the North West of Scotland was typically changeable and extreme.
