Last week Matt was invited to speak at the Aspire Programme 2013, an event taking place in Antwerp for creatives from different design disciplines from across Belgium. The event explored leadership and business growth in the 21st Century.

Following the network’s rebrand at the beginning of the year and the implementation of Rudd Studio’s logo design, 2013 has been a very good year for ITV, with bigger audiences and industry awards recognising the effects of the new identity.

We’ve just got our copy of ‘New Graphic Design – The 100 Best Contemporary Graphic Designers’ by Charlotte and Peter Fiell. The book includes a selection of our work for Channel 4.

I have created another ‘Imaginary Landscape’. Like the previous ones, it combines photographs from different places (all in Scotland in this case) to create a new scene.

A couple of weeks ago we were in New York. I had the honour of spending time with two design legends – Ivan Chermayeff and Milton Glaser.

I wanted to try ‘augmenting’ a photographic landscape with a layer of graphics, drawing attention to the rhythms in the scene.

Food festival Taste Of London will be 10 years old this year and our logo for the festival is still going strong.

In February 2012, ITV initiated a pitch to find a partner to work with in-house team ITV Creative on a complete network rebrand.

And another Japanese ‘imaginary landscape’.

I wanted to try an ‘imaginary landscape’ with photographs I had taken on a trip to Japan a while back. This one combines Tokyo city and garden scenes. The garden is the Hama Rikyu Landscape Garden.

I really enjoyed my afternoon out of the studio yesterday, judging at D&AD New Blood. There was some great work. If I had to pick one show it would be the Kingston University Illustration and Animation BA Hons Course.
